We often define certain people as being geniuses, but this is a very overused term these days. Yes, intellectual prowess and creative power can be defined as being genius, but there is more to it than that. We often assume that the geniuses of the world are just naturally born with the gifts they need to change the world. And, in many ways they do, but, it’s also important to consider that there is also hard work, practice, habit, and formula that lead to this as well.

Now, while you might not be in the genius pool, and may never reach that pool, there are things you can do that will help to make you smarter. The majority of us use just 10% of our brains, so think how much geniuses must use! These are some of the best things you can do that will help you become smarter on a daily basis.

Reflect for 10 minutes daily

Reflection is important for becoming self-aware and making sure you understand your place in life. What is it about life that excites you? Why do you have the motivation to do what you do? Is there anything that excites you and makes you passionate? If you have an ideal life in mind, how much of that are you currently living? Reflection and deep thoughts force you to think with more clarity, and you can learn a lot about yourself in the process.

Read for 20 minutes daily

Reading is something you really do need to get into the habit of doing. It’s important for stimulating your brain and helping with your memory. You need to try to make sure you read for 20 minutes a day, every day if you possibly can. Now, you could do this with books, but another great idea is to read online – that means checking out news articles and keeping abreast of current events. Whether you’re reading the news online or poring over a novel, your brain is accessing areas that generate imagination and boosting your thought process. Reading is absolutely essential for helping boost your cognitive abilities.

30 minutes of focus per day

Because of how intensive life can be sometimes, it’s important to have focus as much as possible. You need to make sure you focus on what you want to achieve in life and ensure that your body and mind are aligned to help you achieve this. In times of focus, not only are we developing and honing our skills, but we are also working on our brain function, and this can make you smarter. It is proven that even just half an hour per day of focus can actually really boost your cognitive functions and help to make you smarter.
