Things incredibly successful people do every day

Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, J. K. Rowling, and Oprah Winfrey – what do these people have in common? They’re all deemed as a success in their respective fields. Whether success means money or freedom to you, there’s no denying that many of us are chasing the dream of becoming ‘incredibly successful’ in our everyday lives. However, it might seem like an uphill struggle that is virtually impossible, without the right tips, tricks, and tools. Luckily, we can study what incredibly successful people do every day and try to emulate that in our own lives. Here are the habits that successful people swear by… How many do you already do?

Eat a live frog every morning

Woah, okay, before you run off in disgust, let us explain. This little idea came from the author Mark Twain, but it’s not quite what you think. This isn’t a literal tip, so please step back from the frogs. What he meant was that if you ate a live frog first thing in the morning, then nothing worse will happen to you for the rest of the day. Basically, get the worst thing out of the way first thing in the morning. What have you been putting off? What do you dread doing every day? That’s the thing you need to get done first thing, making the rest of the day seem so much easier. You’ll also carry on with a real sense of achievement throughout the day, which can truly power you through any task that comes your way.

Getting sweaty

Plenty of successful people swear by exercise as a way to get their blood pumping for the rest of the day. And, if you hate exercise, then this is the perfect example of eating a live frog every morning. Get up early, get your exercise in, and then carry on with your day. Not only will exercise improve your physical health, but it can have a real positive effect on your mental health and productivity. Those who exercise first thing in the morning tend to feel less sleepy in the afternoon than those who don’t. Beat the afternoon slump and squeeze in a little workout when you wake up.

Take risks… kinda

You may have read plenty of inspirational stories of successful people who take risks, but there is something you should bear in mind with this piece of advice. All the risks you take should be calculated. No one is going to bungee jump without the appropriate safety checks, and you shouldn’t take a risk without first looking into what could happen. Perhaps you want to set up a business and are going to risk your life savings on getting it up and running? That’s an excellent risk to take, as long as you have done your research. Is it viable? How long could you last without any income? Make sure your risk is well thought out – then jump! Successful people will take risks every day, but only calculated ones.

One task at a time

Multitasking is a nightmare when it comes to productivity, and any successful person will tell you that they focus on one thing at a time. In fact, some business owners will plan out their day in five-minute chunks to make sure they’re only ever focusing on one thing at a time – we’re looking at you, Elon Musk. Five-minute tasks may seem a bit OTT, so consider something like the Pomodoro technique. This breaks your day into 25 minutes working on a task, with a five-minute break after. Do whatever you want with that break, but then move onto the next task for the next 25 minutes.

These are just some of the daily habits that have been ingrained in successful people from the get-go. If you can bring just a few of these into your everyday life, then you could see an increase in productivity and move ever closer to your dream of success.
