Sure, our social media feeds seem to be filled with friends who have all landed their perfect jobs, and they’re now loving their lives. However, we don’t need to dwell. It’s okay if you haven’t found your forever career, and there are plenty of reasons why.
Our personalities change
Could you have imagined doing your job when you were five? The chances are you once had grand dreams of working as a doctor or a vet, and may have never reached those goals. However, that’s probably because our personalities have changed a lot over the years – and will continue to develop. We are always learning how to adapt to new people, and it’s likely that we’ll find many new loves along the way.
It might not exist
Believe it or not, but your forever career might not even exist yet, so who can blame you if you haven’t found the perfect job yet? The world is continually chopping and changing meaning new job opportunities are appearing every week. Who knows what they could bring? You may never have known how much you wanted to work in a particular career until you saw the chance to grab it by the horns. Sometimes, we just need to keep searching.
You might be learning your passion
Sometimes, it can take years for us to learn our true passions in life. It might take meeting the right person or trying new hobbies to see what it is that makes us tick. On the other hand, you might still be working toward your ultimate goal. While you might not have found your forever career just yet, you’re getting one step closer every day. All you need to do is keep going until the finish line!
Time only moves forward
The fantastic thing about time is it always moves forward, and there is nothing we can do to change it. The best bit? Each new day brings a host of new opportunities to our door. This means you can grasp whatever comes your way – without the worry of risking a career that you love. Want to go traveling? Why not head off and see what new skills you can learn along the way?
We can learn
While you might not want to work in an office your entire life, you may have never known that without trying your hand at a desk job. Not finding your forever career doesn’t mean that you are wasting time, it means that you are working toward discovering what you really want to do for the rest of your life. Plus, you should hopefully pick up some valuable skills along the way that you can use for the rest of your life.
There’s no need to panic if you still haven’t found your forever career. Not only is there plenty of time to find a job that makes you fall in love, but the time in between could also be teaching you some of the most valuable skills you can take with you for the rest of your life. Perfect.
