To an outsider, the husband knew what his relationship looked like, and he knew that some of the red flags were there. His wife worked in a fast-paced industry that was all about schmoozing and liaising with clients and potential customers.
Because of this, she would often take these people out for dinner and drinks – and then come home late at night after the schmoozing came to an end. His wife had always been open about the people she met, and what she got up to, so he normally felt no need to be worried.
