Every day, while she was at work at a supermarket, she felt guilty. She felt guilty because she looked at her customers, and at her co-workers, and she knew that at the end of the end they would go back to their homes, where they and their families would be able to spend the night in comfort and safety. She, on the other hand, would have to gather her four kids and once again spend the night in her car.
It had been going on for a while now. On the previous year, she couldn’t afford to make a deposit for an apartment, and she and her children were forced to start living in a 1997 Buick Regal – it had been six months already.
