Living in a car is challenging enough when one is alone. In Ebony’s case, it was even worse because she had children in school age. It was not easy for her to find safe places for overnight parking, and, as a result, her kids would often end up missing school.
Also, many times she couldn’t even sleep at night, as she felt the need to look after her young. So she was up, watching, making sure nothing bad would happen, looking over for any type of suspicious movement. She thought to herself that that was no way to raise a family, but she couldn’t find a way out. She would apologize to her children, and let them know that she was sorry.
