There are many ways as a teacher to achieve respect in the classroom, but some amount of authoritative behavior and boundary setting is usually needed. This teacher found a funny way to make it clear to his students he means business.
He confiscated a student’s phone twenty years ago, and nailed it to the wall. Why? Because the student had been using it during class, something that is clearly against classroom rules. The phone is still there, as an efficient warning to new students.
