The pilot reached out his hand, wanting to shake Denny’s. He said to him, “I heard about what you did, and I just wanted to tell you about myself. I was once a military pilot, and someone once bought me lunch too.”
“It was a gesture that I will never forget,” he continued. “So I just want to let you know it was a very wonderful thing you just did.” Denny was blown away, so he stood up out of his seat and shook the captain’s hand back.
