He approached the soldiers and handed over the $50 that the fellow passengers had given him. As he handed the money over, he said, “I’m sure it’s going to take a bit of time to reach the base, so there may come a time when you all want a sandwich. God bless you.”
The soldiers all thanked Denny profusely for his amazing gesture. Although to Denny it was the least he could do, this act of kindness meant ever so much to them.
