It’s the simple fact that people are embarrassed. People don’t want to be told that they’re saints. People are humble. People are shy. People don’t want everyone to point at them and say, “This is a man we must follow.”
And you know why that is? It’s because deep down, they’re thinking secretly that it’s not true. They’re telling themselves that they’re not actually good. They’re afraid to do good deeds, because they’re afraid of fooling people. The irony here is that they wouldn’t be.
