As Denny handed over his $5 for his own lunch, he noticed that none of the other soldiers were purchasing lunch either. This made him feel sad. He hated seeing other people go hungry, especially ones who are risking life and limb to defend his country.
As he took the first bite into his sandwich, he felt as though he just had to do something. He couldn’t just sit and watch all the soldiers getting hungrier and hungrier while everyone around them tucked into their food. Enough was enough. He needed to do something.
