For some of us, it seems normal to thank soldiers and veterans for the dedication they make to keeping our country safe. However, others don’t know what to say and try to avoid the conversation altogether.
John said that he was touched that someone had said “thank you” for his work. He didn’t enroll in the armed forces to receive thanks, but it made him realize that his role was more appreciated than he thought.
