[post_page_title]Everett Ruess[/post_page_title]
Thoreau’s idea was probably a pioneer one, but it inspired many more to do the same after that. But not all those who wander know how to survive the wild nature of… well, nature. Everett Ruess, for example, went on his first hitchhike expedition when he was just 16 years-old, in 1934.
When he was 20, he decided to ride up to a small town near Utah, stayed there a few nights, and then took off to the wilds, only to never be heard from again.
