Apparently, de Salazar and others like him were really onto something, because most experts would agree that living in a close proximity to nature helps lowering stress in the body. In one of the researches, they found that people living closer to green space reported less mental distress.
One other study discovered that people with windows that turn to a view of trees and grass may recover faster in hospitals, show better performances in school, and even show less violent tendencies in neighborhoods where it’s common. Even just looking at pictures of nature has a calming effect on people.
