A search party went after him in 1935, but came up empty handed. They found out Everett was seen by some shepherds on his way up the Utah desert, and they were the last to see him alive. Therefore, it’s believed that these shepherds were somehow involved in his disappearance.
The main culprit, it turned out, had already passed away by the that time, though, so no one could corroborate or deny the suspicions, and unfortunetely, this is one of cases that remains unsolved to this day.
