Only in 1999, more than 65 years later, clues were found as to Everett’s whereabouts. This was thanks to National Geographic magazine adventure writer, David Roberts, who decided to seek out answers to the old mystery.
He went to the small town in which Everett was seen last, talking with some of the locals who met him back then. Apparently, some of them were not surprised to hear of Everett’s disappearance, since they thought he wasn’t equipped enough to survive the Utah wilderness.
