The dry waterfall was the perfect chance for the researchers to work on projects that could help everyone in the future, too. They decided to plant various instruments that could monitor any rock movements at several places in the waterfall.
They also used steel cables and bolts to try and secure the rocks around Bridal Veil Falls and Luna Island. The team finished off by drilling drainage holes to help relieve hydrostatic pressure. There was just one thing to do: investigate the build-up of talus.
