[post_page_title]Uncovering the waterfalls[/post_page_title]
No one knows when people first discovered Niagara Falls as there are very limited written records about the waterfalls. It’s believed that they were once a vital aspect for indigenous communities living in the area.
However, it was Samuel de Champlain, a French explorer from the 17th-century, that first wrote about the great falls. 1678 saw the first time that Europeans recorded a visit to Niagara Falls as Father Louis Hennepin discovered them while exploring the land known as New France.
