[post_page_title]Carving the falls[/post_page_title]
It turns out that Niagara Falls has been flowing for approximately 18,000 years. It was formed thanks to ice sheets that carved great marks into the land that eventually became North America. The ice melted and went on to create the beginnings of the Niagara River.
It took years of constant flowing, but the new river finally eroded the cliffs and formed the waterfalls that so many of us know and love today. To top it off, Niagara Falls acts as a border between Canada and the United States.
