Niagara Falls marks a divide between Canada and the United States. Although millions of people get to see the water fall at six million cubic feet a minute, that amount significantly decreases as soon as the sun goes down.
That’s all thanks to a treaty, dated from 1950, between Canada and the US. It states the local power plants are allowed to divert the water flow to harness the most amount of energy without interrupting the incredible sight for tourists.
